Super Bowl Party

Party invitations in just a few business days

February 7th is the date, Miami is the place.  Doesn’t ring a bell?  Then you are not one of the millions of football fans waiting for Super Bowl Sunday!  You may not be sitting in a stadium with thousands of other screaming fans, but going to an at-home Super Bowl party can be just as memorable.  These annual football frenzies have taken on a life of their own. Whether watching on a large flat screen television or a projector and a sheet tacked up to a garage door, the last and largest game of the regular season is a gridiron fan’s dream. If being at all honest, most attendees would have to admit that the game itself is usually not the main drawing point for these events.  While you may not remember who won, the odds are good that you will remember at least one of the thirty second 2.6 million dollar commercials, or who it was that sang at half time.

Food is usually the most valuable player at these parties.   The criteria is hot, spicy, fattening and in vast quantities. If you’re a ‘football widow’ on Super Bowl Sunday plan ahead, prepare everything and then relax.  Crock pots full of miniature smoked sausages and a little barbeque sauce, beverages in ice chests around the room, pretzels, and an easy buffet of chips, dips, appetizers and sandwiches will give you some free time to enjoy yourself. Try to place the food close to the action so your guests don’t have to decide between eating and watching the game.

Football Pool Game from Windy City Novelties

There are betting pools and party games that can add to your fun. If your guests will be rooting for different teams, work from an imaginary line or draw one with masking tape down the center of the room. Decorate to your heart’s content with anything from banners, balloons and special table settings. Use the colors of the team you’re rooting for and wear all of your favorite team paraphernalia. If there are children who plan on attending, set up a kids’ room in another part of the house stocked with treats, games and a television with dvds.

A smart idea is to set up a taxi service or designated drivers, just in case.
